Historic Countryside Home

This renovation was the reconfiguration of a primary bedroom, bathroom, reading room, guest bathroom, powder bathroom and mudroom with contractor Austin with MSC Enterprises. It is amazing what small tweaks to a layout can do. Historic homes were built for the needs of that time, but we live differently now.

We were able to design a new bathroom vanity with two- tiered pull out sections that hold a generous amount of product. There is power inside his and her sections for all of the powered items to stay plugged in. Life’s little luxuries. A large mirror installed in front of the windows of a previous sleeping porch did not compromise the amount of natural light entering the bathroom. The mirror height purposely has exposed window above and below where daylight pours in from the south windows. There is also a large window on the east wall so this bathroom is flooded with natural light. In addition, linear wall sconces offer a very nice even wash of light across the face.
